About the event
The documentary Perseverance, a documentary Essay on Tomás Sánchez participated in the DocsMX – Mexico City International Documentary Film Festival (2025) as part of its official program.
Produced in Mexico, the film offers an in-depth portrait of the life and work of Tomás Sánchez, tracing his artistic journey from his training at the National School of Art in Cuba and his participation in the landmark exhibition “Volumen Uno,” to his international career and his establishment in Costa Rica, where he has lived for more than 25 years.
Through images of his work, interviews, and archival material, the documentary explores his creative process, the discipline that sustains his artistic practice, and his relationship with the landscape as a central axis of his artistic vision.
